A record-breaking time was set today for The American Semi-Finals in the Barrel Racing "Buy Back" competition. Brandon Cullins had a record time of 13.523, making it the best barrel runtime in The American Semi-Finals history at Cowtown Coliseum. 

This is Brandon's third time at the Semi-Finals. In 2017 he qualified through to RFD-TV's The American finals, taking third place with a time of 19.683. 

The road to The American is long and hard. Athletes looking for a chance at the big money inspires hundreds of cowboys and cowgirls from around the world to enter barrel racing qualifiers ... all looking for a chance at the $2 million jackpot. Both guys and girls can enter all genre's for RFD-TV's The American, making it stand out in the sport of rodeo. In the female-dominated sport of barrel racing, Cullins record stands out. It has also sparked conversation in the Twitterverse, where fans are speculating whether Cullins might give 2017's winner, Hailey Kinsel, a real run for her money.

This year, during the Semi-Finals Slack there was a total of 284 qualifiers. 112 opted into the "Buy Back" competition. Currently, there are 33 Semi-Finalists in the Semi-Finals (30 barrel racers who placed, plus the top three from the "Buy Back" competition). 

On Sunday, the barrel racers with the top ten run times will advance to compete under the bright lights at AT&T Stadium for RFD-TV's The American.
